The Barn at the Ackerhurst Dairy Farm Wedding

Lindsey and Nate’s wedding at the The Barn at the Ackerhurst Dairy Farm was simply put, STUNNING! From Lindsey’s gorgeous Rhylan Lang gown to the perfectly styled cake table, everything took your breath away but before I touch on the various aspects of their wedding day let me share their proposal story!

The Proposal

It was April 2018 and Lindsey and Nate had planned a trip with Lindsey’s parents to Cabo. Nate had been secretly planning to propose to Lindsey before they left so they could celebrate their engagement while they were vacationing. It was the Friday before they were to leave and Nate had brought home a Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake (their fav) and suggested they have a date night at a local brewery in Ames, Iowa.

At the brewery, they had the best time trying new beers, eating great food, and playing a few games but once home they settled into comfy clothes for the night. Nate, though, had brought in pieces of ice cream cake for a late night snack. But he didn’t have just a slice of cake, he also had a little surprise. It was a ring. Lindsey died! He got down on one knee and recited their definition of love that they had made together the first night they each said, “I love you.” After sharing a few special words, he asked her to marry him! Lindsey, completely blindsided said, “YES!”

The Wedding Day

Nestled just on the outskirts of Omaha you’ll find one of the prettiest venues around, The Barn at the Ackerhurst Dairy Farm. With its rich history and its gorgeous features, it’s the prefect place for couples to say their ‘I dos!’ Upon stepping inside, every inch of the venue showcased the amazing styling by Andrea Zahourek Events + Design. She and her team took Lindsey and Nate’s wedding day dreams and brought them to life, even down to the very special key shaped bottle openers that were featured as a part of Lindsey and Nate’s story.

Lindsey hair (by Sarah) and makeup (by Thuy) was flawless and perfectly accentuated her gorgeous features. Nate was adorned in a handsome blue suit by Emsud’s Clothiers. Their reactions to seeing each other for the first time was perfection.

The day smoothly transitioned from ceremony to reception as guests enjoyed cocktails, a popcorn bar and mingling and sharing memories. The day couldn’t have been more perfect.

Lindsey’s advice for future brides: “If at all possible, give yourself time to prepare and plan for your wedding. I was able to take a semester off of school, and pull back to 3 days/week at work. This has done WONDERS for my sanity!”

Of course the amazing team that help bring the day together:
