5 Year Sabbatical

So I’ve been neglecting my blog for a while. So sorry! I’ve just been super busy (like everyone else) with work, planning our trip, meetings, studying, volunteering, taking care of our house, and feeding and caring for Dave and the pups…and not to mention just not feeling well most days.

But I’m trying my hardest to get organized. Anyway, back in July I posted about my 5 year wedding anniversary! Love ya babe! Well, we both have a second 5 year anniversary. Yep, we both hit our 5 year anniversary at work too. Woohoo! And now we’ll be taking a short leave from work, home and everyday life to head out on a bit of an adventure together. I’ve been looking forward to this for some time now and the days are falling off the calendar faster than I expected. We don’t even have a flight back home yet! Maybe we won’t come back….ha. Just kidding! I have no choice but to come back. Spazzi wouldn’t be too happy with me, Princess on the other hand probably won’t even know we’re gone. I take that back, she’ll miss Dave.

So many have asked, ‘Where are we going and for how long?’ Well, we are kinda going all over the place. So far we’ll be gone for 3 weeks (maybe more) traveling all over but starting out in Phoenix, Arizona then heading to the Grand Canyon. I’ve never been and I’m thoroughly looking forward to all the photo ops. From AZ we’re heading to Dallas, TX and traveling down to San Antonio to visit the River Walk. Never been there either. Then back to Arlington for the Big 12 Championship Game. Hopefully, the Huskers will be there otherwise Dave and I will be the only ones in the Cowboys stadium sporting Husker gear.

The day after the game we’re hopping on a jet plane and cruising to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Yeah Baby! That night we set sail to the Southern Caribbean. Beaches and sea shells here I come. We’ll be on a 14 night cruise visiting all kinds of quaint little islands. Getting our tan on.

After the cruise we’re really not sure what we’re going to do. We may come home but if the Big O is full of snow I may try to persuade Dave to catch a flight to Florida. Linz…if you’re reading this you may have company. Hehe…

Anyway, that sums up our 3 weeks. Make sure to check out the blog while we’re gone cause I plan to document our adventures as we go. Dave is going to be so annoyed with the camera. Ha. Don’t tell him I said this but he really likes it and just pretends he doesn’t. You  can also check out the real-time map in my slide bar to see where we’re at.

Oh and here is the ship we’ll be boarding Dec. 5th. It’s called the Caribbean Princess. How lovely!
