Last year I had the opportunity to collaborate with an incredible group of people. It all started with the idea of putting together a styled shoot. Mid-February, I started planning and pinning photos on Pinterest.
From the beginning I wanted this inspiration shoot to inspire young professionals with simple yet elegant style. With the idea that the ideal bride would appreciate nature and classic elegance yet love to incorporate unique elements and trends. I assembled a group of wedding professionals that shared the same passion for this concept and everything started falling into place!
My inspiration came from many things, but I knew I wanted to incorporated subtle components throughout the shoot to emphasize classic elegance and local community. The combination of these elements set the stage for any midwestern couple to express their personalities, style and most of all, love.
I couldn’t believe how well my vision came together when perfectly set against the beautiful landscape of Omaha, Nebraska with a private residence as our backdrop. The private residence provided open fields, historical backdrops, and a rustic windmill. And a couple local farm friends. It was an incredible gem that we were absolutely blessed with.

Jocelyn of Ready or Knot Wedding Chic dressed the bride in a strapless mermaid gown with a scalloped cut neckline and flowing lace embroidery. She was stunningly picture perfect.
Events in Bloom complimented the gorgeous dress by creating a loose and freewheeling bouquet by combining pale and neutral roses with free flowing greenery – gorgeous. The florals were inspired by the 2016 Bridal Fashion Week showcasing a touch of “undone.”
The hair and makeup was kept simple and classic accentuating the brides natural beauty. Her stunning gown was paired with the perfect gold jeweled and pearl hair clip. The piece was sparkling yet classic and provided by Brides & Hairpins.
Events in Bloom designed a table scape full of fresh lilies, carnations and greenery. It was bold and beautiful. The antique chairs provided by Events in Bloom highlighted the elegance and beauty of the shoot.
I wanted to showcase items that could be added as wedding favors that were simple yet made a statement. Fun yet elegant. To fit that look I placed rock candy and colored sixlets in glasses against mirrored gold stands. A fun a colorful touch. Although some elements contained history, the combining of modern and historical fit.
One of the most unique elements of the shoot included the handcrafted gourmet Nutella and Strawberry Pop Tarts, a speciality item made locally at the Over Easy cafe in Omaha. I wanted to include something different than the typical cakes and cookies. This delicious treat added to the midwestern vibe creating a special little deliciousness.
A local pup and a nearby horse wanted in on the action and I think they added a cute little element to the shoot.
